The innovation process started 2000 with a golf ball finding application in mind. Fairly quickly the product focus shifted towards the electronic industry and cooling of electronics. The company – Aluwave AB – was formed 2004, the same year Aluwave signed the first customer contract who used the products in LED applications.

The first deliveries towards LED applications in the automotive industry was in mid 2006. Also in 2006, Aluwave was the first Swedish company that was certified as a solution partner in the LUXEON Lighting Network™. 2007 most of our customers are producers of LED applications and consultative services based on our experience in thermal and optical design is a natural part of our business.  A large portion of our sales is towards the automotive and some examples of this is described in these case stories, story1, story2 on Standby AB who delivers high performance LED products to the emergency vehicle market.

At 2008 we are involved in numerous development projects. One of our customers, Mila Design & Tillverkning AB, just launched a new LED-based headlamp "Mila Nova" based on an Aluwave Light Engine built on Alunat™. For more info on that project please see this case description.  

At euroLED in June 2008 in Coventry we launched our Aluwave Light Engine to an international audience and it was very well received and the number of projects increased and we recruited Magnus to complement the team. The headlamps developed for Mila received high honors in  Testzone and we are of course proud of that.

Apart from new projects during 2009 we have also been on a few media lists, such as this one: top-50 cleantech and our solutions for thermal management of LEDs has been receiving international awards. Aluwave is now also participating in research in light quality and how that impacts productivityin the forest industry. Aluwave launches a Luxeon K2, I, III and V redesign service.The fourth quarter result of 2009 waspositive driven by volume deliveries.

At 2010 we see that the street light business is starting to move into the next phases, with trial installations and proof of concept. Börje joined the team, strengthening us in system design. The Aluwave Lighting Architecturewas introduced to the market and we finished important deliveries in the UVA and UVC application area.
